- פְּקַעַתf. (פָּקַע) (that which is to be unravelled; cmp. בְּקַעַת) coil, clue of thread, of rope Kel. X, 4 פ׳ של גמי a coil of rope made of reed grass. Gen. R. s. 12, beg. נטל פ׳ של גמי … ונכנס דרך הפ׳וכ׳ he took a clue of rope and tied one end of it to the entrance, and he went in along the unwound rope, and came out along the rope; Koh. R. to II, 12 פְּקִיעַת גמי; Cant. R. to I, 1; a. e.Pl. פְּקַעֲיוֹת. Kel. XVII, 2 שעורה בפ׳ של שתי is measured by the ordinary size of warp clues.
